Woot... rich text editing.

Midas, Mozilla 1.3's rework of the API for using Composer, is quite nifty.  The moz.org folks chose to emulate the IE designmode/execCommand.

I've got it working in Blozom and this code is generated with it.  I'm planning the code for the create link dialog featuring:
  • Google lookup to make sure urls are correct
  • URL testing
  • Integration with CMS for link selection by post title
  • Semantic typing for links - the key goal here is to convey positive/negative affect and a simple base of semantic attributes

Link Typing

The old link in my web collection for Randy Trigg's thesis chapter on link types had bit rotted but workpractice.com has reproduced it.

My goals for link typing are to allow "negative", non endorsing linking as well as provide some support for the authoring and knowledge management process.  Finally, some portion of link metadata will be exposed in the link title tag to provide additional context for browsers.|||
