Flash Design

Flash really does have the potential to produce better UI's than web browsers. Alas, it's not there yet.  Part of it is MMedia lameness on the essentials of form interaction, but much of it is status quo and "aint it cool" design -- and perhaps a lack in practical research from the HCI community.

Flazoom provides some nice illustrations of how Fitt's law plays out in common Flash designs. There's even a bit of discussion of expanding targets, a recent hot-topic here (note, the local blog search engine got a revamp lately, feedback appreciated)

More details, and a zooming prototype, in the lab.
