Extending Mozilla Firebird

Very interesting post from D.H. on thinking he's been doing on the whole feature of extensions.  This is a response to both developer and end-user needs.  The planned bug fixes are especially welcome.  The instable period following xp-installs can be very damaging to confidence in a package.  Catch-up work at O'Reilly.

Thunderbird First Impressions

So far, Thunderbird has been a pleasant experience.  Usenet offers an account of a nice UI evolution (that I hadn't discovered).

That said, the "welcome page" is silly.  AOL uses this page to push content, so it's been left as a placeholder in the Mozilla application when you click on an account.  At the mozillazine forums, I proposed the features of:
  • recently read messages
  • a filter report
  • top visited folders
Does Thunderbird maintain a history RDF?
