I've finally decided to offer up one of my best sources, the El.pub IESERV electronic publishing home page. From XML to virtual reality and everything in between, published approximately twice weekly.

SlashDot does a double take on dealing with "It's the User, stupid." - a diatribe on the disconnect between program/interface authors and users in *nix systems. Like many /. threads, it's a big one. The second discussion of a usability diatribe and ends up focusing on Win/Mac. An earlier discussion is titled "Open Source's Achilles Heel" and deals with more *nix issues.

This site is now on a new server, one that is SQL-Server enabled. I've got an alpha version on a database/dhtml app intended to support book reading online up as a result.

The app was driven by the publication of the full text of Neuromancer online. The book is recognized for coining the phrase " cyberspace", and is generally a great read. The reading app is very alpha, but usable and I will do my best to insure that your bookmarks work, allowing you to return to the site and pick up where you left off. A user login/cookie system will store your place in the document in the future, as well as allow you to specify fonts, colors, page size, etc. There's some dhtml, but it's IE only for now. Check it out at /neuromancer/. (did I mention there's a glossary?)
