ThirdVoice, a web annotation system, has been redesigned. They've left the browser, moving in the wrong direction from my point of view. The new annotation marker is a nice evolution, adding a distinctive underline to annotated elements.

In the long run, this system is way too proprietary but based on a very powerful idea. Crit.org is a more usable annotation system in the short run and dhtml promises powerful new options for interfaces to annotation systems.
