Nifty, a Treemap application (for Windows) mapping the Open Directory. I've been touting the benefit of showing a meta data survey at the head of search results with the number of results for each subcategory. Treemaps do this better by representing the magnitude distributions visually. Of course, this takes up more screen real estate. UI is *always* full of tradeoffs.
