DHTML Spotting: Multinational realities often make it seem critical to force visitors to choose a country as their first action on a website. This is generally a bad thing both because it's tangential to the user goals and it's typically implemented in one of the most expensive (user effort) widgets, the select list. Ikea offers some innovation on this operation with a DHTML layer and the semblance of speed via onmouseover feedback.

Just about settled into a new abode by the beach and digging in heavily to XUL. XUL comes with decks for brain dead content switching, tabs, and tree widgets -- a nice step up from HTML.
Thought I would also make public my newsreader/slideshow application, for IE only, at /news/.
