Web server log file analysis is subject to an assortment of frailties which damage your abiltity to understand user's experiences. Roughly complementary to additional client side logging is log file analysis which takes into account the site structure. Using XGMML (eXtensible Graph Markup and Modeling Language) and LOGL one can discover aspects of site usage not apparent in standard page based metrics.
