A friend is in town for a DV conference downtown so we looked up the LA rail system. There's a handy trip planner (or two) but both suffer from the critical flaw of not having a map accessible from the planner.
It does present multiple address matches for ambiguous addresses, and might work ok for trips including bus routes but doesn't have a "rail only" option. You could craft a image map augmented with javascript to populate the form, but a simple rail only checkbox would probably solve this particular flaw with less work. It's all about matching your user's goals.
