It occurred to me today, during an Industrial Engineering class discussion of Norman's POET, that the hybrid UI's of websites/webbrowsers forms a sort of throwback to the early days of the apps spawned from the Macintosh human interface guidelines. All web applications have some cross-app consistency, enforced rather draconially with the browser UI. Quite a step forward in "knowledge in the head". 8:24:14 PM    comment
